• Aadhaar Number (UID): The 12-digit unique identity number issued by UIDAI.
• Enrollment ID (EID): A 28-digit unique enrollment number provided at the time of Aadhaar registration.
• Virtual ID (VID): A temporary 16-digit number generated via UIDAI to safeguard your Aadhaar number during transactions.

Official mobile apps such as mAadhaar, UMANG, and DigiLocker also allow easy and secure e-Aadhaar download.

Follow these steps for a hassle-free Aadhaar download:

1. Go to the official UIDAI website: myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
2. Select “Download Aadhaar” from the “My Aadhaar” section.
3. Choose your identification method: Aadhaar Number, Enrollment ID, or Virtual ID.
4. Enter the required details and solve the CAPTCHA.
5. Click “Send OTP” to receive a one-time password on your registered mobile number.
6. Enter the OTP and click “Verify & Download.”
7. The e-Aadhaar PDF will be downloaded, protected with a password.

Note: To open the e-Aadhaar PDF, enter a password consisting of the first four letters of your name (in uppercase) followed by your birth year (YYYY). For example, if your name is “SURESH” and birth year is 1987, your password is SURE1987.

• mAadhaar App: Install the app, register your Aadhaar number with your mobile number, verify via OTP, and download your e-Aadhaar anytime.
• UMANG App: Download and register your mobile number, select Aadhaar services, authenticate via OTP, and access your Aadhaar via DigiLocker.
• DigiLocker: Login with your Aadhaar or mobile number, link your Aadhaar to DigiLocker, and download the verified e-Aadhaar document securely.

Your e-Aadhaar PDF file is encrypted for security. Use this format to unlock it:

• First four letters of your name in uppercase (excluding spaces or initials).
• Followed by your four-digit year of birth.

• Name: ARUN KUMAR, Born 1985 → Password: ARUN1985

What is e-AADHAAR?

Using E-Aadhaar, You receive a digital copy of your Aadhaar card signed by UIDAI. This document contains your 12-digit Aadhaar number, your details, a photograph, and biometric information, all included on your Aadhaar card.

As with the physical Aadhaar card, the e-Aadhaar can be downloaded from the UIDAI website or through the mAadhaar app.
